What does not
While many things do open and run, if you close chatroom's, try to open settings, or view feed, these things will ALWAYS crash your client. Due to this, openGL can NO LONGER BE USED. this is a HUGE problem, as DirectX runs/and looks terrible for IMVU on linux. While joining chatroom's, you will lag terribly until a few minutes have gone by and room/avatar textures have all been written to your cache . this will happen every-time you join any room. Room's poppulated above 4 people will lag your text input and eventually cause the client to crash, however I seemed to have 'KIND-OF' found a workaround.
Workarounds
Okay, to improve loading times in populated rooms, and, well, in general, I Launched the IMVUClient.exe via my terminal. To do this in the easiest way possible, You should open your file manager, tap Control+H to veiw hidden folders. now, you should be in your home folder to start all this. go into .wine, than the c_drive, users, you, application data, imvu client, NOW! locate IMVUClient.exe, open your terminal (if you havn't already) typw 'wine' (without parenthesis) and than drag-and-drop IMVUClient.exe onto the terminal, and hit enter. the terminal will launch IMVU. you can close the weird-little-tiny window WINE opens in the top left corner, as it doesn't really do anything. keep your terminal running in the background as long as you want to keep using IMVU. this method seems to run WINE quicker, and lets rooms load better, IMO.

Additional Comments
WILL A MORE EXPERIENCED USER PLEASE READ THIS AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX THE SETTINGS-CRASH BUG!!! PLEASE!!
This should run fine for casual users, but Role-Players will want to run IMVU on Windows or OSX for the time being.

If the fonts in game look distorted, make sure you install the "ttf-mscorefonts-installer" package, as this provides the windows fonts used by IMVU. You can install it easily on Debian/Ubuntu based distros by using the following command in the terminal ("Ctrl+Alt+T" is a keyboard shortcut to open it):
sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
You should be prompted to enter your password for sudo as usual.

The only bug I've encountered on the staging branch is rooms with special characters (? ? ? etc etc) sometimes glitch out in the top bar. If it happens: you're still in all the rooms and tabs you were in previously, you just can't see them. If you click on the IMVU logo you get back to the main view, and you're able to see all your tabs again (except the room that caused the glitched name). Even though you can't see the glitched room in your tab bar, you're still in it, and the only way to get back into it is to click "join" again which causes your tab bar to glitch out again.
