What works

The 64-bit version of wine-4.9 gives a slow approximation of the game. It is playable, sort of, but not very fun because of all the dropped frames.

The 32-bit version may work, but it is unusably slow.

This is a regression as wine-2.02 works fine on the same hardware.

What does not

Framerate is too slow to be enjoyable. This was not a problem in previous versions of Wine.

Game also has long lags (around 30 seconds) where it freezes on one screen, particularly when quitting.

Downgrade to an older version of Wine.

What was not tested

Everything. Game is too slow to be usable.

Hardware tested

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: open source

Additional Comments

Game controllers do not work without koku-xinput-wine kludge.
