Running the game in any overall graphics setting above "Medium" caused a crash fairly quickly. I also found that the gamma and brightness settings didn't work reliably. 

Position links are empty for some reason. I suspect installing IE will fix this.

You will probably have issues leaving full screen mode that will require you to exit before it works.

Workarounds

Use the 32 bit client setting to minimize issues (no sound in 64 bit client). 

If you have an nvidia card you'll need to make sure you install the 32-bit graphics libraries for the game to start (that's package nvidia-driver-libs:i386 in debian-based systems). This is not unique to EU it's just a helpful reminder if you haven't done it yet.

You can set every graphics setting to very high except the shader setting itself (assuming you have a good enough gfx card). As long as the shader model is at medium it will work fine.

It will work in window or full screen, but getting back to windowed can cause some temporary issues.
