Selected Test Results

What works

Game play, save and restore, menu options.

What does not

The game crashes right after start, which is solved by patching wine-staging (see below).

No audio, cutscene are invisible (just black screen until Enter or Esc is pressed). The main character also seems to be invisible, although items and all the environment are visible.

Workarounds

The bug#44089 has a map_alignment_fix.patch for wine-staging, so had to build patched 64-bit wine with SysWOW64 to get this game running.

Also used native d3dcompiler_43.dll, d3dx11_43.dll, d3dx9_43.dll, xinput1_3.dll (not sure they are all needed).

I haven't gotten around to making the sound or cutscenes work (may need to test using native xaudio dlls and such).

What was not tested

Haven't played to completion.

Haven't applied any audio workaround or cutscene playing workaround. Someone who knows better in this regard may want to add new test cases.

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Nvidia
  • Driver: proprietary

Additional Comments

I gave Silver instead of Bronze since audio was not necessary for normal game play (I can turn on the subtitle.) Maybe someone can find a way to play the audio and cutscenes and bump the rating.
