What works

winedt 5.4 and winedt 5.5

Both are speedy applications, interface well with linux tetex: latex, pdflatex,  xdvi, acroread, gv.

Just as useful under wine as in Vista.

What does not

help

Needed chmviewer. Gecko worked to display help.

Help go away box causes address 0 error, but does not need fixing - don't click the box!

Options save requires exit and restart of winedit, but it saves the options. Same problem wine 0.9.xx, 1.0, 1.1.9.

Additional Comments

Editing required for ExeMode.edt and WinEdt.ini in order to launch linux apps latex, pdflatex, xdvi, acroread. Scripts required to make inverse and forward search operate with xdvi.
