Microsoft Office (installer only)

What works

Opens: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher

Works: Word PowerPoint, Excel

Installation:

1. Create 32 bit prefix (only 32 bit office works) by (for example) typing this command in terminal: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/win32 winecfg

2. Add to registry DWORD "HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct2D/max_version_factory" with value "0". You can use winetricks and regedit for this. 

3. Add to registry DWORD "HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D/MaxVersionGL" with value "30002" (hexadecimal). You can use winetricks and regedit for this.

4. Use winetricks -> Install a Windows DLL and install msxml6 and riched20 

5. Download office 32bit installer from your account in office.com, If you cannot see the download option, change the user-agent of your browser to Windows. 

6. Run the installer by simply double clicking it

7. Copy AppvIsvSubsystems32.dll and C2R32.dll from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun" to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Client" and to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16" 

8. Run office app. If asked to install wine-gecko - do it, this will help with registering

What does not

Does not open or work: Outlook, OneNote 2016, Onedrive

Connects to office365 account, can browse the files, but cannot open any online files in Onedrive or Sharepoint

Buttons with dropdown options cannot be used, as the dropdown disappears immediately after clicking the button

Workarounds

To access the dropdown options, first right click and then left click the button with the dropdown option. Also try shift focus away from the office app window (for example click somewhere away from the window) and the click straight on the button with the dropdown options.
