What works

All the tools from the Tool Box.

What does not

As with every other report, program shows an error upon startup saying "Failed to create empty document."
This is caused by MUI files being unsupported.

Once started, if you zoom, scroll bars don't show up until you use them. Zoom slider has similar problems if you use mouse buttons on canvas to do so.

Requires mfc42u.dll, like the XP version.

To make it run at all:

  1. Open mspaint.exe in Resource Hacker.
  2. Select Action ? Add from a Resource file (*.res, *.mui, *.dll, *.exe) …
  3. Choose C:\Windows\System32\\mspaint.exe.mui, where C:\Windows is a Vista/2008 installation folder/WIM file.
  4. Check "Check/Uncheck All" and Import.
  5. Repeat 2-4 for other languages if you want.
  6. Save.
