Actually, for Windows 8 and later, this runs better on wine/Linux and wine/BSD (including MacOS) than it does on Windows: a few vital-for-this-game libraries have been removed from Windows beginning with W8 that wine does not need, leading to Windows users having to manually download and install said libraries before being able to run the game.
