This version was sold on The Humble Store. This review concerns the 64-bit executable included with the game.
The multiresolution textures used extensively in The Witness work as of Wine version 3.3.
In the 64-bit version, unlike in the 32-bit version, it's also possible to select Medium and High graphics quality.
What does not
The launcher generated by the game's installer launches the 32-bit version by default, which fails to run with 64-bit Wine.
The Dynamic screen resolution slows down the game.
Turning off Multisampling degrades the graphics and makes one or more puzzles extremely difficult to solve.
The path used by the launcher should be modified to point to the 64-bit executable in order to launch the game.
The screen resolution should be locked to Display Size, 1080p or 720p for increased performance.
Multisampling should be turned on so that textures are rendered correctly.
What was not tested
Only part of the gameplay was tested, due to the length of the game, but there were no obvious regressions.
