Autodesk Fusion-360 - Linux (Wine Version)
Autodesk Fusion 360 for personal use: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal
Open file works
Main program seems to be fully functional.
What does not
At startup it asks about browser crash. You can press Cancel or OK but nothing happens, just ignore.
The yellow "buy" button in the top bar only opens an empty window and locks the application. So you cannot get the "free" mode. You have to delete the WINE-PREFIX every 30 days and reinstall Fusion for continued use.
The tool boxes are always topmost, even if other programs are in foreground. This makes the app almost unusable. Seems to be DirectX related.
The installer needs a lot of workarounds, see https://appdb.winehq.org/objec...
In short these are
I created two batch files for this:
#!/bin/bash export WINEPREFIX=~/wine/fusion echo WINEPREFIX=$WINEPREFIX echo *********** echo winetricks vcrun2017 winetricks vcrun2017 echo *********** echo winetricks win7 winetricks win7 echo *********** echo winetricks d3d11=disabled winetricks d3d11=disabled echo *********** echo maybe export again, if in a new window etc... echo export WINEPREFIX=$WINEPREFIX echo NOW RUN wine \"Fusion\ 360\ Client\ Downloader.exe\" echo While this is running, start second script ----- #!/bin/bash export WINEPREFIX=~/wine/fusion echo WINEPREFIX=$WINEPREFIX INSTALLER_TEMP=$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/users/$USER/Temp TEMPDIR=$(ls -1d $INSTALLER_TEMP/7*) mkdir -v $INSTALLER_TEMP/installer echo cp -a $TEMPDIR/* $INSTALLER_TEMP/installer cp -a $TEMPDIR/* $INSTALLER_TEMP/installer cp -va ~/wine/platform.py $INSTALLER_TEMP/installer echo *********** echo Now close installer then run echo wine $INSTALLER_TEMP/installer/streamer.exe
On first run the second script will fail because platform.py does not exist yet.
Extract and patch the platform.py from installer as described in the other test data linked above. Then put it to ~/wine/platform.py
My Questions to the guide from the existing test-data:
- what is 2FA?
- Why and how do you enable DirectX 11 again?
Maybe the maintainer could answer them and delete my test-data?
What was not tested
Real work ;)
