Armored Warfare is a free-to-play tactical shooter video game developed by Mail.ru and published by My.com
PvE, PvP, Global Operations work the same as on Windows.
My.com .exe installer seems to be aware of running on Linux because it made desktop icons with wine command. The Steam installer should also work.
With Intel i5 2500k+NV 1660(nvidia-driver 435, Wine 5.0 and dxvk 1.5.4) the frame rate is constant at 60 in PvE with Max setting. In some Global Ops it may drop under 30 because the map area is 3-6 time larger. With With "High settings" FPS is at 40-50 in Global Ops.
Overall the game seems to be more stable in Wine. Alt-Tab in Windows leads to game freezes, 100% chance while a map is loading. On Wine this doesn't happen. HDD activity seems to be way lower in Linux.
What does not
With Wine 5.1 the context menu(rclick on the toolbar icon) of the launcher doesn't show up. With 5.0 it works.
-if the login dialog from the my.com launcher doesn't load then it needs mscore fonts. Use winetricks to install mscore fonts.
-if you use a wine launcher don't activate d9vk because it may fall-back to the DirectX libraries and the performance is very bad. Use only the DXVK libraries
What was not tested
Battalion battles but it should work because it's the same PvP/SpecOps missons.
