The pre-release demo.
What does not
For the installer to run (and not required for the game), enable access to memory region 0, by using the command:
# sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr=0
To prevent the game from auto-minimizing when switching workspaces, run it in virtual-desktop mode:
$ wine explorer /desktop=,800x600 dfbhdd.exe
What was not tested
In the previous stable version of Wine (v. 4.0.3), I was unable to install the game even by using the above-mentioned workaround. (Bug #45707). The bug seemed to have disappeared after upgrading the system (software). So maybe the bug was in the older version of the Linux kernel (v. 4.19.80) and was fixed in the newer version (v. 5.4.14) ?
The game runs almost flawlessly.
Sometimes, I experience a slight lag/stutter when I quickly move the mouse (weapon). I don't know if the behaviour is distinct enough to call it a limitation.
