Ravenloft (Mod 14)
Everything works. This game runs as well under Wine 2.11 development with DXKV installed as it does in Windows 10
What does not
What was not tested
Nothing, have been playing for several weeks now and have been all over the world including epic trials and all dungeons.
I started with Wine 3.11 as my system default:
1). sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2).sudo apt-get install libvulkan1 libvulkan1:i386
I used Lutris to create wine bottle:
-Create a 64 bit prefix with Lutris, or any other prefix manager and used winetricks with these settings:
a) install tahoma font b) msxml3 c) physx d) vcrun2010 e) vcrun2012 f) vcrun2013 g) winecfg set to windows 7
-Next I installed the DXKV replacement DX11 drivers version 0.61 https://github.com/doitsujin/d...
I downloaded the zip version of DXVK 0.61 and used the included scripts to install DXVK files to my wine prefix, no compiling to create the DX11 dll's.
Now the bottle is set up you have 2 options:
1) Copy the Neverwinter_EN folder from a windows installation to my /home or folder of your choice, choose the Neverwinter.exe file from the game folder and choose run in Lutris. The game will connect to the patch server and see you have the game installed, it will then take you to your char screen and ask you for a new email code for your computer. That's it.
2) You can get the neverwinter .exe. file from here http://einsofgaming.com/nw/dow... copy the .exe to a game directory outside of your wine prefix, I copied mine to /Home, (issue with Playonlinux, this is much easier imho)
select the Neverwinter.exe from your Neverwinter directory, which will connect to Arc and download 12 Gigs, uncheck the on-demand patching and it will download 23 Gigs. Once downloaded you can hit play immediately and log into your account. Which will then ask you for a new email code and your good to play.
Everything works in this game, after installation I noticed my Geforce 750ti video card was maxed out on 2 gigs Ram. I upgraded to new GeForce card, but still consumes from 50 to 75% of video memory.
Neverwinter can be installed in wine as a 32 bit or 64 bit prefix, just make sure you install the corresponding 32 bit or 64 bit version of DXVK and not the winetricks version of DirectX 11.
