The game runs normally, no weird crashes or freezes.
Adding new songs works.
What does not
The game uses different encodings based on the language. See the notes in 1.60 for details. Once the locale specific problems are solved the game mostly works.
The GDI problems were resolved according to its developer. The changelog mentioned some improvements related to running the game on Linux with Wine. The library navigation is still a bit laggy though, but this issue occurs on Windows as well.
Every filename inside the songs and score folders must be be in plain ASCII, otherwise the game crashes when you try to select the corresponding folder or song. This is maybe directly related to how wine handles files. I tried to convert the file names to SHIFT_JIS using convmv, but that didn't worked so I gave up on this. Just make sure to have ASCII filenames. At least the song names displayed in the game are working in Japanese/Korean/other.
Some extra note about the config.ini: The playername must be ASCII only too
What was not tested
Game runs fine with integrated graphics. Using a dedicated GPU is up to you.
Install corefonts and cjkfonts using winetricks, if you experience missing fonts in the game.
