Saku Saku: Love Blooms with the Cherry Blossoms

What works

• Game launches.
• Music and voices work.
• New game, save game, and load game work.
• Config and Extra menus work.
• Full window mode in Config menu works.

What does not

Intro video will automatically be skipped, and new game will throw error about pMPEG1Splitter.

However, both can be fixed with the workarounds below.

Workarounds

You will need to add DLL overrides for both devenum.dll and quartz.dll. They don't have to be applied globally, it works just fine being applied only to "sakusaku.exe".

Native dlls (try using winetricks):

devenum, quartz (I used 10.0.14393.0 32-bit)

With that said, you MAY also need to install wmp10 and a codec pack for video playback. The wineprefix I used to get this working had a need for wmp10 + codec pack so I already had them both installed prior to installing sakusaku.

After applying the DLL overrides, intro video will play like normal (and can be skipped with a click), and new game will no longer crash.

Additional Comments

I removed the links to that third party site and the recommendation to download them from a site.  In general - untrusted downloads of binaries should not be performed for security reasons.  wine provides no security protection.

winetricks can provide quartz and devenum from a trusted source - please use that in future.
