Selected Test Results

What works

  • Installation
  • 30-day trial "Demo mode":
    • Drawing
    • Animating
    • GPU Acceleration
    • Antialiasing
    • Bone tool
    • Previewing still frames
    • Basically everything that's available in Demo mode

What does not

  • Previewing animations (crashes)
  • Activation - trying to license the application results in an immediate crash right after clicking on the "Activate" button. Subsequent runs will result in app crashing on startup with the following output:

Check license result = -1085, status = 0. Library init failed with error -3513.

Removing the directory located at drive_c/ProgramData/Smith Micro will undo that and let user keep using demo mode.

Workarounds

You need to install msvcr120.dll (Visual Studio 2013) with winetricks or Moho will crash (even with Demo mode!)

What was not tested

  • Exporting animations (unavailable in Demo mode) - judging by the situation in Anime Studio 11 only image sequence exporting would probably work if not for the Demo mode.

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Nvidia
  • Driver: proprietary
