What works
Everything but general loading and saving of data for the emulators extra features, except in game saving/loading works fine.
What does not
can't run games by opening app on its own, saving/loading of data other than game such as things in the map viewer and other extra features.
Workarounds
What was not tested
nothing most of the app has been tested and a pattern of saving or loading data was found to crash rest of options I can only assume and the few I did check worked fine.
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
Like mentioned previously you cannot open the games by running the emulator. The way you run the games is to right click the .GBA file and select "run with another application" and then use custom command and find the emulator Exe select it then once you're finished right click the file or any .GBA files and select run with "VisualBoyAdvance.exe" and the emulator should start up(in wine) with the game loaded. Only other comment is that the window scale seems wrong but you can addjust it through the menus or drag the window to a prefered size.

There is a minor tweak needed to get the emulator to run. There is a DLL that VisualBoy requires that Wine doesn't have, no one has decided to port the DLL to Wine.
With the new version of Wine (1.2), a couple before it as well, it winetricks is now included with Wine. Which makes this even easier.
Use this command:
winetricks mfc42
For older versions of wine:
Download Winetricks
Then Run this command:
sh winetricks mfc42
