What works
Everything. I tested game play. Saving/loading. Changing the filters. Changing to the different rendering methods. Resizing window. Cheats and disassembling (unlike what the other tests say).
Only thing is you need this dll:
http://dll.softandco.com/dll/1/Mfc42.dll.html
What does not
Nothing, everything I tested worked perfectly.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Nothing. I tested all main features. I didn't test every item in every menu though. So of them are pointless.
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
There is only one thing that you have to do to get the game working; download and add the mfc42 .dll (native windows dll) to Wine. Its simple just add it to your Wine system32 folder and it works. You don't even need to force win to use it with the config, since by default Wine doesn't even have the dll. mfc42.dll link: http://dll.softandco.com/dll/1/Mfc42.dll.html Admin note: rating changed to conform to rating definitions.

There is a minor tweak needed to get the emulator to run. There is a DLL that VisualBoy requires that Wine doesn't have, no one has decided to port the DLL to Wine.
With the new version of Wine (1.2), a couple before it as well, it winetricks is now included with Wine. Which makes this even easier.
Use this command:
winetricks mfc42
For older versions of wine:
Download Winetricks
Then Run this command:
sh winetricks mfc42
