Selected Test Results

What works

  • Menus and Gameplay
  • Keyboard controls
  • Mouse controls
  • Sound effects and background music in the menus and during gameplay

What does not

  • Audio in the intro and cutscene videos (data/anims/*.znm)
    • see bug #41047
    • data/anims/*.znm are gzipped videos - use 'gzip -kdS .znm IntroScene.znm' for example
    • videos itself are "LucasArts Smush v2 (SANM) video" and are recognized/played by mpv and ffmpeg
    • audio track reported as "adpcm_vima, 22050 Hz, 2 channels, s16" by ffmpeg
  • The system mouse pointer doesn't disappear. In the menus it follows the game's own pointer.
    • see bug #13859

Workarounds

What was not tested

  • Gamepad
  • Multiplayer: "Uses IPX - did not bother."
  • Changing the video resolution. How do I change it? I see no option in the video settings.

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: open source

Additional Comments

Additional issues with wine-staging:

  • there seems to be a performance regression. I couldn't get through the menus to start a race because it was so slow.
  • when switching desktops to "minimize" and then return to the game, the screen stays black. Using the qtile window manager.
