What works
Everything. Installed via the Epic Games Launcher. There was no need to force opengl mode.
I've put 15 hours into the Direct X version, and it runs excellently overall once put in a virtual desktop.
What does not
Audio playback gets garbled on occasion. Most frequently on start up and when loading a game. This could be a pulse audio config issue on my end.
Focus is randomly lost, causing inability to interact with menus and can cause controls to go nuts. Alt tabbing fixes it temporarily. This happens to some Windows users as well.
Sometimes it's not possible to equip an item inside your Seabase. Exiting to the main menu and reloading fixes the issue. The issue occurred frequently after alt-tabbing the game before the issue randomly stopped occurring altogether. Could effect Windows users as well.
Workarounds
Running the game in a virtual desktop nearly fixes the audio and focus issues, causing them to happen much less often and stop immediately once they occur. With a virtual desktop the audio occasionally gets garbled for a second (literally), but it immediately stops. Likewise very rarely focus is lost (happened only once so far), but it also recovers immediately.
What was not tested
The entire game.

Additional Comments
Installed Epic Games Launcher in 64 bit prefix with 3.21 staging. Used the argument "-SkipBuildPatchPrereq" to stop launcher errors. Then opted out of beta and restarted the client. Used web browser to link account with gmail. Then logged into the Epic Launcher with the gmail option because username and password input is broken.
Subnautica config: setup virtual desktop of 1920x1080 with Play on Linux (same as monitor resolution). No other changes needed, though I left CSMT on and am Using the argument "-EpicPortal" so the game starts without the launcher.
