What works
The game itself seems to run perfectly after playing for ~30 minutes.
What does not
The configuration tool at startup does not work and neither does the opening movie.
Workarounds
You can watch the intro movie in your video player. The movie files are located at "steamapps/common/Atelier Firis The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey/Data/x64/movie."
In "steamapps/common/Atelier Firis The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey", rename A18Config.exe to A18Config.exe.backup and rename A18.exe to A18Config.exe. This will make steam start the game directly instead of launching the config tool first.
Next, download d3d9.dll from https://github.com/exolyte/fak... and place it in "steamapps/common/Atelier Firis The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey" (next to the game exe).
Setup dxvk. This requires you to have a vulkan compatible gpu and vulkan libraries on your system. If you don't know how to setup dxvk, look for a guide on google.
Finally, run steam by executing "WINEDLLOVERRIDES='d3d9=n' wine Steam.exe" and launch the game.
