What works

Test with DVDFab version (64-bit). This installs correctly, without any issues.

Test features work correctly:

  • reads and analyses DVD/BD
  • copies / rips / shrinks content to BD-R / DVD-R size or to file
  • converts from disks to a bunch of format
  • creates DVD / BD disc or ISO file out of own video material including its encoding for desired disc size

Even running this version and the 32-bit version in parallel reading from different devices works without any problems or crashes

Due to local laws only unencrypted discs were tested

What does not

  • Program does not recognize ports correctly as IDE/AHCI therefore UHD drive tool will not work
  • GPU not recognized, therefore CPU will do the rendering

What was not tested

Some minor features may not have been tested, but all major tasks are running fine

Hardware tested

  • GPU: Nvidia
  • Driver: proprietary

Depending on graphics driver
by CyCroN on Sunday February 17th 2019, 11:04
As I could not reproduce a working DVDFab installation on a newer PC, I tested around with different GPU configurations.
One of two available proprietary drivers for my GeForce 2070 series GPU did not work at all. The second NVIDIA driver works exactly like on the other system which has an older 960/1060 series GPU.
Now like on the other system, EVERY 32bit-Version (V10 and V11) runs fine, but again only Version in 64-bit.

I tried on LinuxMint 19.1 and ubuntuMATE 18.10 installations with same positive results as had before on an older PC.

Hope this helps some other users while trying.
