Commercial version of Hellbender. A 3D space shooter.
While there are several problems that prevent this from being a "platinum" rating, gameplay works and this is a very playable game (Wine needs to be set to Windows 95 to play).
What does not
Full screen is finicky and usually causes my ubuntu session to reset when toggling it (press F4 for full screen).
When it gets into full screen, sometimes the colours are completely wrong. I have to work the keys by pressing F4, Alt, with some mouse clicks to get the right combo to get it full screen without crashing ubuntu.
The afterburner (press the 'F' key) is fincky too. It does not maintain the afterburner while the key is presses. To play you have repeatedly mash the F key to get around to far places.
The cinematics do not work for me at all. Even when I try to replay the mission cinematics from the menu nothing happens.
When "hardware accelleration" is enabled the game runs very smoothly, but there is no fog effect. A result is a "nothing to redraw" scenario where you see old artifacts.
What was not tested
Multiplayer was not tested.
It's still playable despite the problems; just be prepared to lose your linux session if you try full screen.
