What works

The install, game play (only tested to level 7), movies, and storyline. Game will play without CD if a no-CD patch is used. Loading and saving games works.

What does not

I installed the GameSpy program (Required for the Network game) and it installed with no issues; however, upon trying to start a Network Game in Dune it will crash.

Installation and patches

Setup

The setup looks for a CD drive with the right name. If you have an image of the install disc, you will need to mount it with an appropriate tool like CDEmu (fuseiso will not work).

Patches

  1. Official 1.06 patch
  2. Non-official hi-res patch
    3. The hi-res patch will not change the game assets, it will only allow modern screen resolution. This patch also helps reducing the speed issues.

OpenRA is a cross-platform port of several games from the Command & Conquer era. It includes a playable port of Dune 2000 running on most Unix systems.
