What works
What does not
You need a No-CD crack to run the game, otherwise it won't start. This is the only thing keeping it from being platinum.
Workarounds
What was not tested
I didn't test the entire game, but the fact that I could run sandbox and also play the first level without any problems should meant that the rest of the game plays fine too.

Additional Comments
Rated gold because you need a No-CD crack to start the game - it complains that it requires the CD in the drive, even though it was (I mounted an ISO). Otherwise, this is platinum. Just drop a Cracked EXE into: ./wine/drive_c/Program Files/Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/ Don't forget to back up your original RCT3.exe. Another thing, if you play the game full screen, when you quit, your desktop resolution won't reset back to what it was, but it's like that with every game I try with Wine, so it's not RCT specific.

This is a how-to I posted over on shyguy's world on installing RCT3 when you have an nvidia optimus enabled graphics card.

MP3 background music works fine.
Convert all music in /Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Music/ to mp3 using ffmpeg. Then replace .wma with .mp3 in MusicGenre.txt
Enjoy :)
I will post a more in depth how to tomorrow when i have time.
however i did do a quick test with summerair.wma which is the default music and it seemed to work.
Please note that improving Mac Compatibility for RCT3 is taking a back burner as this game has now been released as a native Mac application as seen here:
