Deus Ex: Invisible War

What works

- Installation
- Starting the game
- Sound (with some problems; see below)
- Anything that has to do with the 3D-Engine > Graphic of the game with all effects + bloom
- Game runs with an smooth frame-rate over 50fps, only minor slowdowns
- Quicksave
- Bik-Movies (despite some image corruption)

What does not

- Copy protection
 -> used a nocd fixed exe file
- Changing resolution (restart of the game required to take effect)
- Mouse is escaping the window
 -> "MouseWarpOverride = force" fixes the escaping problem but locks the cursor in the center of the screen, which makes it impossible to use the inventory properly (e.g. dropping unneeded items)
 -> However, setting the ingame mouse sensitivity to 50 without "MouseWarpOverride", gives one the ability to turn about 900° which makes it pretty much playable
- several sounds are missing (e.g. sounds during picking up objects, some sounds of the surroundings)
- Quickload (the game freezes)
 -> Any game loading must be done from the loading menu

Additional Comments

The game runs really good. Despite all the bugs mentioned above, it is still pretty much playable. Game settings: - 1600x1200 resolution - Graphic options all at maximum, with all effects on Wine settings: - fullscreen or window mode 1600x1200 Specs: - Wine 1.2 - Ubuntu 8.04 LTS - Kernel 2.6.24-28-generic - Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3,16GHz - 4GB RAM Mushkin XP2-8500 1066MHz - ATI HD4870 512MB (using official "ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series" driver Release 9.10) - Window manager: metacity and compiz works fine
