HowTo / Notes

Use DXVK to solve lighting issues

winetricks can install dxvk for you using

WINEPREFIX=/path/to/.wine-prefix winetricks dxvk

Or follow the installation process on dxvk github, or Valve's proton fork and the game should run perfect.

Crash on Fedora 30
by Damon Blais on Thursday May 16th 2019, 3:29
Unfortunately, I am not able to play Satisfactory on Fedora 30 (Gnome) Wayland

* Install vulkan-loader package (performance, graphics performance)
* Install Lutris
* Change WINE version to System-4.7
* "Install" lutris.net/games/satisfactory/
* Configure Game, enable DXVK (to utilize vulkan-loader)
* Configure Game, enable "Virtual Desktop" 1920x1080 (or desktop resolution)
* Go through Epic Launcher installation
* Go through Satisfactory Installation

Different results when running the two editions:

Satisfactory:
- Intro passes, New Game, Tutorial loads...
Crash happens between tutorial and starting game.

Satisfactory Experimental:
- Intro passes, New Game, Tutorial loads...
You can play the game for a few minutes!
Crash happens when building the HUD (shader for the ghost / building placement UI)
