Installing the game works, gameplay works as long as you use a patched defiance.exe, controller also works and bik movies also work.
What does not
The original defiance.exe doed not work. The original defiance.exe seems to have a problem with securom.

Reason for gold and not platinum is because you need to use a patched exe. Tested on Slackware Current Multilib 03-26-2016. Resolution Tested 800x600 windowed and fullscreen. Nvidia GeForce 430 GT using nouveau driver 1.0.12. AMD X255 3.1gz CPU. 2 gig Cosair memory.
