All works in Multiplayer with DirectX with Wine patched by the patch of Mirek (thanks).

Install works.

Playing for an extended time works too.

What does not

Single Player, there's a version mismatch, but Multiplayer is more popular I think!

But it would be nice if it could be patched in next releases if someone find the problem or have a patch :)

DirectX7 mode doesn't work.

HOWTO fix black screen

If you start the game and the intro videos play but then the screen goes black, you may need to enable S3 texture compression. To do so:

Install driconf.
In your system's Preferences menu, open 3D Acceleration.
Under the Image Quality tab, set Enable S3TC texture compression even if software support is not available to Yes.
Run Call of Duty 2. The menu should now work normally.
In the game's Options menu under Graphics, set Force DirectX 7 Mode to Yes.
