Call of Duty 2

What works

The game install perfect but when i try to open it....Couldn´t load default_mp.cfg for multiplayer and default.cfg for single player; on virtualbox i installed windowsxp and there i installed COD2, updated to 1.3, the i copy the whole folder through a shared folder over cod2 ubuntu install, the when i execute it ask default_localized.iwd, i really dont know how to fix this, i tried installing by wine, winedoors and copying the cod2 winxp instalation over ubutu instalation but nothing works....

somebody could teach how install call of duty 2 on ubuntu? my system is: amd athlon 64 3000+ 1 gb markvision mobo MSI k8n diamond plus 2 nvidia 7600GS on SLI (only using 1 GPU because the power supply its only of 500w and cant manage both video cards) Ubuntu 7.04 wine 0.9.43 Installin COD2 from a DVD.

If you start the game and the intro videos play but then the screen goes black, you may need to enable S3 texture compression. To do so:

1. Install driconf.
2. In your system's Preferences menu, open 3D Acceleration.
3. Under the Image Quality tab, set Enable S3TC texture compression even if software support is not available to Yes.
4. Run Call of Duty 2. The menu should now work normally.
5. In the game's Options menu under Graphics, set Force DirectX 7 Mode to Yes.
