Additional Comments
Performance is lacking with wined3d. Currently in the center of the Factory Map, expect frames to drop to 15-20fps. While in the smaller parts of the map, looking away from the center or certain parts of the map, at the ground and towards the walls, framerate can jump to 80+ FPS until you turn back to the "trouble areas".
Loading into maps takes a considerable amount of time (3x-4x the time on Windows, itdoes tend to reduce times the more the map is played but I haven't seen a definitive correlation).
I have tested the game in Windows running wined3d and have confirmed it to be in the 3D implementation and not in Wine itself. Certain textures/calls seem to be creating high CPU loads and creating a lot of wine errors in the terminal window.
_GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION variable doesn't seem to make much of a difference in performance at all.
These tests were also done under Manjaro Linux as well with the same results.
Finally, using DXVK can drastically increase performance. However, there is a Unity crash that comes along with DXVK. I have not had it crash using vanilla wine-staging yet, but will advise if it does show up.
