WineHQ

Addictive Drums

This version (AD 2.1.9) is the one installed / updated by the XLN Installer, the software XLN Audio has found appropriate with the advent of AD2 and their other VIs for installing and updating their products. Since the installer always checks for updates, I believe this version of AD2 is the most recent (as of this writing). The installer updates itself as well. There has been a few mishaps with this installer s/w for quite a few wine versions but with wine 4.12.1, it finally works :)

What works

The entire plugin works pretty well as it does in Windows (10).

I am using linux build of REAPER and I use Addictive Drummer 2 using LinVst bridge.

The installer worked flawlessly - it installed all the existing midi paks and kits I have. I can browse through everything, play back beats, edit the kit, play with effects etc.

The plugin prompts you to route each individual drum instrument to it's own track for fine tuned control over your project.

What does not

- You can't drag and drop beats from the plugin window into your DAW and must use a work around: Drag the beat you want out of the window and then that midi beat will be found in ~/Addictive Drummer 2/[some number]/Settings/AD2Beat.mid

Workarounds

Get beat into DAW:

- Drag the beat you want out of the window and then that midi beat will be
found in ~/Addictive Drummer 2/[some number]/Settings/AD2Beat.mid

What was not tested

I did not attempt to setup
