A new TaxAct version with the same interface of the previous two years.
The main window opened, including the menu bar, along with the startup screen.
What does not
4.12.1 crashed right after the main window opened up, and reported with Wine's built in crash reporter from a fresh wineprefix. A clear regression from the previous Wine version I tested, 4.0, which didn't crash but rendered black in places presumably needing web-related dependencies.
For Wine 4.0, I installed gdiplus, msls31, msxml3, and riched20 via winetricks, (dependencies required to install IE8, which I didn't install) which allowed elements to be rendered instead of staying black. Attempting to use the interface required constant resizing of the window to force some sort of redraw.
For wine 4.12.1, it just crashed despite workarounds.
What was not tested
I hope that bug reporter submitted correctly, because I couldn't export a log from that interface.
