Workarounds

Removing the ".wine32/drive_c/users/USER/Local Settings/Application Data/Google/Drive/user_default/sync_config.db" and running the app triggers the initial setup.

Installation steps

export WINEARCH=win32

export WINEPREFIX=.wine32

Install the application before ie8. I could not install it after.

In the "Libraries" tab of winecfg edit the entries "winhttp" and "wininet" and set them to "Builtin, then native"
