Nexus Vortex Mod Manager

What works

Everything, from downloading mods, doing all the needed management and finally deploying them. Common external tools such as FNIS, LOOT, SSEEdit also work perfectly using the same prefix.

What does not

• Handling Nexus download links requires configuring mimetypes;
• Many features will not work without .NET Core;
• Vortex cannot deploy anything outside the drive it was installed on. This happens because Vortex creates hard links when deploying the mods;

Workarounds

• A .desktop file needs to be created in order to handle the mimetypes used for Nexus download links. An example of such file can be found in this Github repo;
• Install dotnet46 with Winetricks in order for everything to work without issues;
• All games must be installed on the same drive as Vortex;

What was not tested

Not all games which Vortex can manage were tested. Bethesda games and The Witcher 3 were tested.
