The second Demo for this Game (about 330MiB download).
Installing works. Except for a few rather cosmetic issues.
What does not
I started SpellForced.exe and because it didn't show anything while the cpu was nearly fully used by it, i picked the following consecutive lines out of an logfile made with WINEDEBUG=+all .
0009:Starting process L"C:\\games\\SpellForceD2\\SpellForced.exe" (entryproc=0x748fc6)
0009:trace:seh:__regs_RtlRaiseException code=c000001d flags=0 addr=0x74912d
0009:trace:seh:__regs_RtlRaiseException eax=00000000 ebx=7fd2e140 ecx=0000d3d0 edx=7beff340 esi=7beffc40 edi=0074914f
0009:trace:seh:__regs_RtlRaiseException ebp=002f923b esp=7fa7fee8 cs=0073 ds=007b es=007b fs=1007 gs=0033 flags=00210246
The last three lines repeat itself ad infinitum. I guess this means that shortly after the application is entered an "illegal instruction"-Exception is thrown. Perhaps some obfuscation technique or/and something like a jmp 0 ? I couldn't debug anything further, as my winedbg currently doesn't work.
What was not tested
I couldn't test the released version, as I don't have the CDs currently here. I think allready the Installer from those is protected with the newer SecuROM. At least the one that is delivered with the version 1.11 Patch seems to. The original Installer even is said to have problems on certain MS Windows systems.
