There are a lot of debug messages that come up when running the game. Wine constantly puts out a bunch of d3d_draw errors and the game itself puts out messages when loading data and comboing. These messages would make the game go slow so in order to avoid that, I had to run the game with the following command: WINEDEBUG=-all wine Skate3.exe > /dev/null. The game ran smoothly after that.
