What works

Intro videos. Cutscenes. Main menu. Sound. Music.

What does not

• Games For Windows Live. I avoided to use it because it's reported as a trouble maker.
• The retail DVD-ROM v1.0 is not recognized by the DRM.

Workarounds

• The retail DVD-ROM v1.0 is not recognized by the DRM -> I had to patch the game to v1.1 (~350 MB) then apply a NoCD for v1.1.

What was not tested

Playing more than 3 min.

Additional Comments

The retail DVD-ROM I installed is v1.0 (multi5 (5 languages), Europe). Once installed, I applied patch v1.1 then added a NoCD for v1.1 because without that the game does not start.

Prefix used (64 bits): export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-dirt2
OS set to Windows 7 (with winecfg).

In the old reports, I red that previous users had to force the use of DirectX 9 (default is DirecX 11) by editing the file /Program Files (x86)/Codemasters/DiRT2/system/hardware_settings_config.xml.  I had not to do it, this happened automatically in my case.

GPU Intel HD Graphics 4400 (a bit jerky but playable). OS: Xubuntu 18.04 x64.
