What works

  • Installation.
  • Playing the game (needs a fix).
  • The models appear proper (no distortions).

What does not

  • Running the game: It crashes due to an unimplemented function. (Bug #22616).
  • Sound. Tried dropping DirectMusic DLLs, but was futile.
  • When the first in-game movie is played, it stops. (Luckily, pressing the `space' key allows you to skip it.)
  • In Wine's full-screen mode, the game window automatically minimizes when the workspace is switched (Bug #37937). It can be switched to (activated), without problems.


Workarounds

  • To get the game to run, drop `msvcirt.dll' in the game directory.
  • To prevent the game window from auto-minimizing, run it in Wine's virtual-desktop mode.

What was not tested

  • Changing all settings.
  • Everything else.

If you get a popup "Missing shell DLL cshell.dll" and a console message """err:module:import_dll Library MSVCIRT.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\windows\\temp\\cshell.dll") not found""" you need to copy a msvcirt.dll to the gamedirectory.

It is part of ms-windows and can be found at C:/WINDOWS/system32/msvcirt.dll
