What works
Installation worked fine. I was able to install it and patch it with the latest updates (although this process took a VERY long time, it was sucessful). I was able to go though the whole process (federal and state) and even file electronically. I was also able to properly import my previous year's file. It worked very well.
What does not
As stated in what works, the patch took hours to apply (at times I wondered if it was actually doing anything) and it did not print correctly for me. It seems that the standard forms are written in one font, but the data you provided uses another font and each of those characters had the right side missing. In addition, it was not able to import from Quicken (it can't seem to detect that it was even installed.)
Workarounds
What was not tested
Importing data from other programs that it supports.

Additional Comments
Overall, I was VERY pleased (especially since I have NEVER before gotten TurboTax of any version to even install under Wine).

Description: Object reference not set
Setup will not terminate.
Any ideas on what this is and how to get TurboTax installed. I do not have any other software installed (except for the base system as specified in winetools). Do I need the windows system software, TT core fonts? I am installing by doing a wine setup from the CDROM. Can one install TurboTax from winetools?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I am a little lost in how to trouble shoot.

and installing appears to have worked with no manual configuration.
I do have msttcorefonts installed, but I don't know if that was needed.

-- Base Setup/Create a Fake Windows drive
-- Base Setup/Truetype Font Arial
-- Base Setup/DCOM98
-- Base Setup/MFC 4.x
-- Base Setup/IE 6
-- Windows System Software/VB6 Runtime (maybe not required)
-- Windows System Software/MDAC 2.8 & Jet 4.0
-- Windows System Software/MSXML 4.0
-- Windows System Software/Windows Script 4.6 (maybe not required)
-- Windows System Software/Common Controls 5.0 (maybe not required)
Then I ran the installer, which ran with exactly 1 flaw (license agreement file not found). The program itself seems to work just fine.

-- In WineTools, install Microsoft Core Fonts. I'm not sure which ones you need, but maybe Courier and Times.
-- Copy the Turbotax fonts from X:/Fonts into C:/Windows/Fonts (where X is the CD)
Also, the state download can get fubar'd if you do things in the wrong order. The first time you run TurboTax, do:
-- Start a new return.
-- Online..Download State. (It will ask you if you want to save; say no)
-- After it restarts, Start a new return.
-- Online..Updates (It will ask you again if you want to save; say no again)
-- Then use it like normal.
