i don't know why game don't find conctrl140.dll after vcredistx64 2017 was installed
Workarounds
After installation, go to the path game, extract vc_redist.x64.exe, then a10 in a subdirectory and copy conctrl140.dll in root installation game
# cd /path_to_game (eg. ./drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Age\ of\ Empires\ Definitive\ Edition)
# mkdir vcredist
# cp vc_redist.x64.exe vcredist/
# cd vcredist
# cabextract vc_redist.x64.exe
# cabextract a10
# cp conctrl140.dll ../
# cd ../
# rm -fr vcredist/
