What works

Installation works but gives an error that flashed by so fast I could not tell what it was.

The program itself will start. 

You can load/enter/save tax information. I did not have any trouble entering text and numbers.

What does not

The program will NOT accept your activation code. You can type it in, but it won't recognize it and will repeatedly tell you to type in your activation code. Because of this, you will not be able to activate the program and file online for free.

The program was not able to auto update. It will not connect to the update server.

Printing using the windows pdf printer driver did not work. The printer was listed, but if you select it, you do not get any PDF files. See workaround below.

Workarounds

A workaround is to install the Linux cups-pdf driver so you can still print to PDF. I tested this and it worked fine.

What was not tested

eFiling return was not tested because you can't activate the program. eFiling without activation requires you to pay for it and I'm not going to pay for it just to see if it works or not :).

Downloading state form. Since it won't auto-update, I don't think the state download would work but I did not want to burn my free state download, so I did not try.

Additional Comments

The inability to update and activate the program to get free eFile is a serious deal killer. You won't have the current version, and you won't be able to use your free eFiles. I don't think the state downloader will work but I admittedly did not try because I did not want to burn my free state download.
