Additional Comments
Drag and drop unfortunately is a founding function for this applications purpose, without the ability to drag and drop field data you can't create patches or do much manual fixing which makes the tool almost useless.
Some interesting terminal outputs when drag&drop is attempted to be used.

But basically if you want full drag and drop support with xEdit you need to set the prefix to WinXP,
I tested Fallout4 in this configuration through MO2 and WineStaging-TKG-5.0rc4 and it worked without issue so the games appear to not mind if the windows version is set to WinXP.
I'll probably make a bug report about this at some point. Also I tried Lutris Wine build 3.21 and the issue still existed there, you need winxp setting to get field drag and drop to work (applying new text).
Please note that column drag and drop overwriting still works with all prefix win versions. This issue is exclusively related to the individual fields themselves.

Remeber to test with latest official wine before submitting.
Does the fixme::shell line still appear with Win XP setted?
