This is the latest version available via the Epic Games Launcher, which is the exclusive distributor of MW5 Mercs on PC for 1 year from its release in late 2019.
The single-player campaign, single-player instant action, the options menu, mech designer, online player friends list.
The real challenge in installing MW5 Mercs is getting Epic Games Launcher to work. The workarounds for that are already posted at https://appdb.winehq.org/objec...
What does not
Cutscenes do not work out of the box without the Media Foundation install.
Multiplayer does not connect. It says "Connecting to server" then times out and returns to the main menu. Others cannot join your multiplayer games, and you can't join others. This is true for both Instant Action and the campaign. Multiplayer used to work, but a patch to MW5 broke multiplayer under Wine.
As of now, I do not have any workarounds for getting multiplayer to work again.
Cutscenes work again by using mf-install from https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-in...
I play MW5 using DXVK installed via winetricks. DXVK 1.5.4 is what I tested with. The performance is superb.
However, DXVK does not work well with the DirectX rendering mode of Epic Games Launcher. Fortunately, you can run EpicGamesLauncher.exe with the -opengl flag to use a builtin native Windows OpenGL renderer, which works correctly in my testing.
What was not tested
Joysticks/controllers other than keyboard and mouse.
