With version 5.x SqLyog introduces support for MySQL version 5 features such as Stored procedures, Triggers, Views and 'strict mode'.
Version 5.01 even runs smooth with MySQL 5.1(alpha). Also new is a multitabbed SQL-editor. Planned versions 5.1 and 5.2 (to be released within 4-5 months) will introduce full Unicode support in Data Management as well as Program's appearance. In principle localisation to all languages of the world will be possible from version 5.2. A handful of offical localisations are expected soon thereafter.

SQLyog 5.0 and 5.01 are tested extensively with Wine 0.9.x under FC, SuSE and Slackware. Not a single issue has been found. Installation guide for WINE available from here: http://www.webyog.com/faq/5_71_en.html .
SQLyog is available in three versions: FREE, PRO and ENTERPRISE.
ENTERPRISE version includes the 'child program' SQLyog Job Agent (SJA). There is a (free) native SJA version available for LINUX, but the Windows version (that runs with WINE too) has more connectivity options (tunnelling, proxy authentication). Refer to: http://www.webyog.com/faq/15_47_en.html . Further the Windows/Wine version of SJA can be executed from SQLyog GUI and there is also a GUI wizard to build 'jobfiles' (XML-files that control the SJA). The SJA 'child program' does:
* Notifications Services (for running maintenance scripts and e-mail reporting/notification).
* MySQL Database Synchronisation.
* Migration/ODBC import.
All these jobtypes can be scheduled and combined.
The registered versions of the program comes with a 'support package' consisting of Forums, FAQs and professional e-mail support. With version 5 License Policy has changed. In practice that means that the registered version of the program is now only half the price of what it was before for most users.
