What works
The game works perfectly on Manjaro, running a frugal installation in Wine 5.5 without the need for additional software.
You can even improve game performance by installing .net and dx9 with winetricks. Although when you run the .exe for the first time Wine takes care of installing them automatically.

In making this post I must say that I used to play Rimworld on Windows, and when I started playing on Linux I could see a performance improvement.
