What works

Solidworks is loading, displaying correctly main windows but then it crashes.

original ms dlls mscvrt.dll, mfc42u.dll, and some others are needed.

installation by direct copy of solidworks dir

What does not

Installer starts installation using builtin msiexec, but crashes,

installer refuses to use win98 msiexec (it wants 2000/XP version)

with manual install, Solidworks is loading, displaying main windows but then crashes. Maybe some parts are missing, as a real installation can't be performed.

for information, it crashes the same way when just copying solidworks dir to another real windows system and try to run it.

So a clean installation with web registration may be required !

Workarounds

What was not tested

Using an accelerated opengl video (nvidia ?)

trying to load registry setting with a minimal set of plugins, and a valid licence number.

Although that it is crashing, i guess that it is doable to make it work. But a clean install is needed !
