This version drops previous developments and ports everything on top of Qt. But still Windows only.
Installing is trickier than up to 17.2 (see "Workarounds"), but all previous functionalities seem to be present, and those I personnaly use (zooming, (de)hilighting, Find, Visibility, Flip design) are working so far.
What does not
Installation doesn't work out of the box.
3D view seems to make the application freeze (and need a thorough killing of its processes).
The installer needs Mono installed, and a 64-bit prefix. This being done, it will still die spontaneously after having decompressed its payload and tried to launch the actual installer inside.
The good news is that - for now - Cadence still embeds a legacy installer with the new software, which allows you to finish the install unsuccessfully, albeit with a less shiny UI. (That's what they say, I didn't get to see it.)
All you need to do is execute this legacy installer, located at $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/users/$YOU/Temp/RarSFX0/installsetup.exe. (setup.exe is the new, failing installer.) You should probably remove that Temp diretory after you're done, too.
What was not tested
Plenty, I'm sure.
If someone finds what the new installer lacks, we could need it for future releases...
