I used the original USA CD media (cd label shows up as DARKLORDS). It was installed into its own wineprefix with the virtual desktop set to 1024x768 and machine set as Windows 98. The update patch 1.02 was then installed with wine. The no-cd crack didn't work originally. I ended up making an ISO of the CD (minus audio tracks) and mounting that. After running the game just once with the mounted iso to /media/DARKLORDS the no-cd worked and I didn't need the iso or cd mounted to play. I would say it is platinum in wine but it does require some winecfg settings, won't run full screen, and multiplayer wasn't tested.
