tested version 1.0 CZ from DVD Gold Edition (flatout 1 & 2 on DVD together) played at full details without any problem. no DVD during gameplay neccessary. HW specs: Core2Quad 6600 @ 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, nVidia GTX580 (drivers 295.49), system HDD OCZ SSD 60GB, Arch linux 32bit + XFCE, kernel 3.3.2.
